United Airlines Offers Rebooking Options for Customers Affected by East Coast Blizzard

Airline cancels all flights at Newark hub and surrounding airports Tuesday

CHICAGO, Jan. 26, 2015 /PRNewswire/ — United Airlines today announced travel options for customers whose flight plans may be affected by severe winter weather forecast for the Northeastern U.S. region.

Weather conditions will lead to the delay and cancellation of certain Monday evening flights at New York-area airports.

On Tuesday, the airline will cancel all flights at its New York hub at Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) as well as flights at La Guardia (LGA) and John F. Kennedy (JFK) airports, Boston (BOS) and Philadelphia (PHL). Operations at other airports throughout the Northeast will also be affected.

Options for travelers
For customers ticketed for travel through the region during this period, United is waiving change fees that otherwise may apply. For the fastest service, United urges customers to visit united.com or the United mobile app to:

  • Get complete travel waiver information
  • Check the status of a flight and use the “Send Notification” function to receive alerts
  • Select alternative flights or, in some cases, alternate airports in the event of a flight cancellation
