Imorgon Showcases Integrated Ultrasound Solutions at RSNA 2013

Imorgon’s Report Accelerator and Ultrasound View Dramatically Improve Productivity and Diagnostic Quality of Ultrasound

CHICAGO, Dec. 2, 2013 – Imorgon, the developer of advanced integrated software solutions that enable the full potential of diagnostic ultrasound, announced today it will showcase its IntegratedUltrasound™ solution including the Ultrasound View and Report Accelerator at the 99th Scientific Assembly and Annual Meeting of the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA), Dec. 1-6, 2013. Imorgon’s IntegratedUltrasound seamlessly integrates ultrasound data, images and clips with existing PACS and voice recognition (VR) dictation systems, improving the efficiency and diagnostic quality of ultrasound in hospitals and imaging centers.

“Imorgon is committed to providing a better way to connect and communicate the ultrasound acquisition process to the diagnostic reporting process,” said Lloyd Kreuzer, Ph.D., president and chief executive officer of Imorgon. “We are solving problems, improving patient safety, and dramatically improving upon the quality of service to patients and physicians. With IntegratedUltrasound, radiologists, sonographers, administration and patients can all appreciate the benefits it contributes to overall medical care.”

Imorgon’s Ultrasound View enables ultrasound clips and still images to be displayed on the PACS viewing station in the acquisition order, and offers ultrasound-specific measurement tools, as well as in-progress review with automatic updates as images and clips are acquired. The software solution also provides sonographer Q/C tools.

The Report Accelerator is vendor-neutral, interfacing to any ultrasound system capable of sending DICOM Structured Report (SR) data. It parses the data from the ultrasound system and transfers it into the voice recognition/dictation system templates, which eliminates dictation of numeric data. It also replaces paper worksheets with electronic worksheets that can auto-populate report templates with exam observations and eliminate redundant dictation. In addition, DEXA values with auto calculated, whole-body minimums are imported directly into a report, decreasing dictation time while improving accuracy and patient safety.

According to Lawrence Carl, M.D., medical director for Main Street Radiology in New York, “After the installation of Imorgon Report Accelerator, we set up macros with measurements provided by Report Accelerator in Power Scribe 360 | Reporting so that all our radiologists needed to do was to select the macros. Basically, we went from one day of not having auto-populated data to the next day of having it. It was like magic because it worked for everyone. It has revolutionized the way we work.”

“Simply put, the Imorgon Ultrasound View brings back the power of real-time ultrasound to the diagnostician, and Report Accelerator allows for faster, more accurate diagnostic reports,” adds Kreuzer.

Imorgon’s IntegratedUltrasound solution is based on the DICOM industry standard for transferring images and other medical information between computers, and on the HL7 communications standard for Hospital Information Systems (HIS).
