SunTrust Robinson Humphrey Announces Major Hires in Equity Research and Equity Origination

ATLANTA, Feb. 18, 2014 /PRNewswire/ — SunTrust Robinson Humphrey (STRH) today announced the addition of four industry veterans in equity research and capital markets. Inder M. Singh and Sandy Draper have joined STRH’s equity research department, and Andor “Andy” Laszlo and Terence O’Malley have joined its equity origination group.

Singh has longstanding technology, media and telecommunications (TMT) experience, specifically working in and covering the networking and communications industries. He joined STRH from Comcast Corporation, where he served as senior vice president, finance, strategy and business intelligence, and was responsible for strategy, forecasting and long-range planning. Before joining Comcast, Singh served as vice president of corporate portfolio management and long range planning at Cisco, where he was a member of the CEO’s operating committee, co-led its venture investment committee and led its 3-year planning cycle. Singh has extensive sell-side experience, including as an Institutional Investor-ranked senior analyst at Lehman Brothers and Prudential Financial, and previously led research on more than 20 stocks in the networking, wireless and communications equipment sectors. He is managing director and is based in New York.

Draper has more than 17 years of experience covering the healthcare information technology (HCIT) sector, as well as contract research organization and healthcare distribution companies. Draper previously worked as an equity analyst at STRH from 1998-2003, and re-joins the company after more than six years with Raymond James. He has also worked at JMP, Deutsche Bank and Cruttenden Roth. In 2013, Draper was the FT/StarMine number one ranked analyst in HCIT. Draper is managing director and is based in Atlanta.

Laszlo will lead STRH’s equity origination efforts in technology, media and telecom as well as broaden the firm’s equity product capabilities. Laszlo joined STRH from Lazard Capital Markets, where he served as head of corporate underwriting and business development and was a member of the firm’s operating committee and underwriting committee. Prior to Lazard, Laszlo ran the TMT equity origination efforts at Bank of America Securities and Lehman Brothers. He is managing director.

O’Malley joins as director, bringing equity-linked structuring, pricing and other advisory services to STRH. He was most recently a member of the equity-linked origination effort at Wells Fargo Securities, focusing on alternative capital solutions, private and public convertible origination and convertible restructuring. O’Malley has also worked in equity-linked originations at Citadel Securities, Cowen and Company and Piper Jaffray.

“We are very pleased to welcome Inder, Sandy, Andy and Terrence to SunTrust Robinson Humphrey,” said Mike Wheeler, head of capital markets. “As highly respected industry veterans, they bring many years of experience in their respective fields to STRH, and they will immediately enhance the capabilities and services we offer our clients.”
