WHAT:
On Wednesday, September 17, the art world focused its attention on New York City, as Friends of the High Line hosted the second annual High Line Art Dinner raising funds for High Line Art, the organization’s public art program.
Guests enjoyed sunset cocktails and a special tequila tasting on the Diller-von Furstenberg Sundeck before being seated at an intimate dinner under the cover of the Chelsea Market Passage.
Building on the great success of last year’s inaugural High Line Art Dinner, the event celebrated High Line Art’s commitment to expanding the role of contemporary art in public spaces and pushing the limits of what public art can be.
Presented by Friends of the High Line, High Line Art commissions and produces public art projects on and around the High Line. Founded in 2009, High Line Art presents a wide array of artwork including site-specific commissions, exhibitions, performances, video programs, and a series of billboard interventions.
